IT On-Site Support Specialist I

Overview

The IT On-Site Support Specialist I provides first-level technical support for end users at company locations. This role focuses on troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues, ensuring timely resolution of IT incidents, and delivering excellent customer service. The position is ideal for entry-level IT professionals looking to build hands-on experience in a corporate or enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and operating system issues (Windows/macOS)
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and standard applications
Respond to IT support requests via ticketing system, phone, and in person
Escalate complex issues to Tier II or Tier III support as needed
Assist with user account management (password resets, access requests, MFA support)
Support basic network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, Ethernet)
Perform equipment setup, moves, adds, and changes (MACs)
Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in the ticketing system
Follow IT policies, security standards, and best practices
Provide courteous and professional customer service to all users

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience
0–2 years of IT support or help desk experience
Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Office apps)
Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level IT certification
Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, etc.)
Basic Active Directory or Azure AD experience
Familiarity with imaging tools and endpoint management systems

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 40 lbs
Ability to work on-site during standard business hours (with occasional after-hours support if required)
Frequent walking, standing, and desk work

The compensation for the position ranges from $25.38 - $38.08 an hour
