Stamping Die Design Analyst

Drive “Voice of Manufacturing” throughout product development lifecycle to ensure robust, feasible, and manufacturable casting assembly designs. Conduct early casting process feasibility evaluation in an integrated CAD/CAE environment and coordinate between product development and manufacturing teams to lead resolution of manufacturing feasibility concerns. Participate in the development and evaluation of prototype and production manufacturing cast processes with suppliers. Responsibilities Reviewing and approving Die Designs to ensure they meet WDX standards, die safety requirements, WDX materials/standard components, automation clearances and press requirements. Manage/Lead Die Design Vendor at start of new die set, updating designs for engineering/process changes and supporting die construction and production plant requirements. Work with Die Vendor and Die Process/Automation teams to collaborate on a solution that will work for all parties and give most robust solution for Ford Motor Co. Feedback and incorporate Lessons Learned from previous launch captured issues. Provide feedback and drive for best in class die standards to help develop/improve our Die Vendors and Construction Source success. Lead and guide Virtual Pattern Reviews and give direction accordingly. Manage multiple die designs to help Die Vendors meet our standards and meet their aggressive timing. Organize and lead plant die design reviews for all new dies with appropriate stamping plants. Work with construction sources to eliminate or improve die construction issues up‑front or when reviewing/approving. This position is a range of salary grades 7‑8 and ranges from $86,600‑$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
