Director of Nursing (RN)

Your Role as the Director of Nursing (DON)As the Director of Nursing, you'll lead the clinical team to ensure exceptional, resident-centered care within our skilled nursing community. You'll oversee all nursing services, providing clinical supervision, strategic direction, and regulatory oversight while maintaining Americare's high standards of care.In collaboration with the Administrator and interdisciplinary teams, you'll guide assessments, care planning, medication management, and staff development. Your leadership will play a vital role in fostering a safe, compliant, and home-like environment that supports the well-being of both residents and team members.What You'll DoOversee the clinical supervision and administration of all nursing servicesImplement, maintain, and periodically revise nursing objectives, standards, policies, and proceduresProvide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other care team membersPartner with the Administrator to ensure staff receive required orientation, in-service education, and ongoing trainingConduct and oversee resident assessments and ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliantEnsure compliance with state, federal, and Americare regulations, including survey readinessManage medication systems to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and resident needsSupport quality assurance efforts by maintaining community standards, assisting with inspections, and promoting a safe, home-like environmentWhat You BringLicensureCurrent state Registered Nurse (RN) licenseExperienceProven nursing leadership experience, preferably in skilled nursing, senior living, or long-term careSkillsStrong clinical knowledge and leadership capabilitiesAbility to balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on clinical oversightSound judgment, organization, and decision-making skillsCollaborationExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work closely with staff, administrators, physicians, residents, and familiesCommitmentPassion for senior careAlignment with Americare's mission, values, and commitment to quality of lifePhysical DemandsStand, sit, walk, bend, and change positions frequentlyLift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as neededPush/pull up to 100 lbs. and maneuver wheelchairs (up to 350 lbs.)Assist in lowering residents to the floor during falls using proper proceduresUse required safety equipment, including gait belts and mechanical liftsPerform tasks requiring good vision, hearing, and verbal communicationJoin Americare Senior Living and lead with compassion while driving clinical excellence in our Skilled Nursing Community.
