Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor (Part-Time)Location: Colorado Springs, CO | Campus: On-SiteTarget Program: Pharmacy Technician Certificate ProgramType: Part-Time (25 Hours Per Week)Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)Compensation: $28.19 – $35.23 per hourPosition SummaryPima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor to lead and elevate our Pharmacy Technician program at the Colorado Springs campus. This part-time position blends classroom teaching, program leadership, faculty support, and externship coordination to ensure students receive a high-quality, industry-aligned education.As the Lead Instructor, you will oversee curriculum implementation, support program faculty, maintain instructional integrity, and guide students through classroom, lab, and externship learning experiences. You will play a central role in accreditation preparation, program effectiveness planning, and local pharmacy community engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Program Management:Curriculum Oversight: Ensure proper implementation and strict adherence to the approved Pharmacy Technician curriculum.Accreditation Support: Partner with the Assistant Dean of Faculty to prepare accreditation documentation, facilitate programmatic meetings, and produce accurate meeting minutes.Program Review: Review textbooks and course materials, recommending updates during official curriculum revision cycles.Externship Coordination: Conduct externship site qualifications, complete midpoint student site visits, and supervise externship students in collaboration with Career Services.Faculty Mentorship: Assist with onboarding new hires and provide ongoing mentorship to program faculty.Supply & Equipment Management: Assist with inventory management and ordering of program supplies, lab materials, and equipment.Advisory Board Leadership: Facilitate Advisory Board meetings and communicate program outcomes, student progress, and community feedback to campus leadership.Program Effectiveness: Support annual updates to the Program Effectiveness Plan (PEP) and track graduate certification pass rates.Instructional Delivery & Student Support:Lesson Planning: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans using diverse teaching techniques that support multiple learning styles.Student Evaluation: Evaluate and grade student assignments, tests, and labs within 72 hours of submission; provide constructive feedback.Student Advisory: Maintain scheduled office hours, tutor students, and document academic or behavioral concerns promptly.Campus Engagement: Participate in faculty meetings, advisory board functions, workshops, graduation ceremonies, and professional development.Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate attendance logs, incident reports, early academic alerts, and required student files.Community Engagement: Arrange industry guest speakers, educational field trips, and visits to community or institutional pharmacies.Safety Compliance: Enforce all institutional safety, sanitation, and security standards during lab and classroom sessions.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Associate degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the USDE or CHEA.Program Background: Graduation from an ASHP/ACPE-accredited pharmacy technician program OR an accredited program recognized by the USDE/CHEA in the specialty area.Experience: Five (5) years of occupational experience in pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.Professional Affiliations: Active membership in at least one (1) national pharmacy organization and one (1) state pharmacy organization.Licensure & Credentials: Must be a Licensed Pharmacist or a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing, with a current license/credential as required by Colorado state law.Preferred QualificationsThree (3) years of teaching experience in a post-secondary or pharmacy education setting.Compensation & Employee-Owner BenefitsHiring Range: $28.19 to $35.23 per hour.Work-Life Balance: A predictable 25-hour weekly morning schedule with no evening or weekend hospital/retail shifts.Ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)—become a stakeholder in our 100% employee-owned company.Perks: Colorado Paid Sick Leave, professional development opportunities, campus-wide support resources, and access to Employee Discount Programs.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
