Practice Info Hospital-employed practice with two existing CV Surgeons The Frye Heart Center is an integrated Cardiology service line that consists of Interventional, Structural Heart, EP and Cardiologists Duke Heart Network affiliate; the first in western North Carolina Position is available to both Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons Responsibilities Perform advanced techniques in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), including endoscopic vein harvest and multi-arterial grafting Conduct arrhythmia surgery Perform endovascular surgery Execute thoracic aortic surgery, including aortic aneurysm repair, thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Perform valvular repair / replacement procedures Provide advanced diagnostics and treatment of benign lung conditions and lung cancer, including Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), Lobectomy, Mediastinoscopy, Navigational bronchoscopy, and Wedge resections Manage pericardial fluid collections Manage pneumothorax and pleural fluid collections Perform minimally invasive video assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) Provide surgical treatment for complications of emphysema Provide surgical treatment of diseases of the mediastinum Manage thoracic trauma Perform open heart and minimally invasive valvular procedures, including aortic valve replacement, combined valvular repair / replacement, mitral valve repair / replacement, surgical closure of septal defects, and tricuspid valve repair Compensation Competitive base salary plus worked relative value unit (wRVU) production bonus Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance Student loan repayment assistance Early-commitment residency stipend Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance and days Marketing and practice growth assistance Benefits Paid time off and retirement plan Comprehensive health and well-being benefits Paid professional liability and malpractice coverage Shift & Schedule Call is 1:3 Requirements BE/BC Cardiovascular Surgeon Experience preferred but not required Preferred Fellowship in transcatheter valve and complex aortic surgery
