THE OPPORTUNITY SRE Engineering is seeking an experienced Hazmat/Environmental Inspector (NICET III) to support environmental compliance monitoring on a landmark NYCDOT bridge project Brooklyn. This project involves full bridge reconstruction within a sensitive urban parkland environment with active oversight from NYCDEP, NYCDPR, NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), and NYSDEC. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in lead paint removal compliance, surface soil sampling, and multi‑agency environmental coordination. QUALIFICATIONS NICET Level II certification required ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician Grade I certification required Minimum 3–5 years of bridge or heavy civil construction inspection experience NYCDOT or NYSDOT project experience required Familiarity with MURK daily reporting standards required Experience with concrete placement inspection, formwork checks, and reinforcement placement verification preferred Experience with asphalt pavement inspection a plus Ability to perform accurate field measurements and quantity documentation Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain thorough, accurate written field records Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions on an active urban construction site Familiarity with NYCDOT Quality Assurance Manual for the Bridge Rehabilitation Program a plus RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct daily field inspection of contractor activities for conformance with contract documents and specifications Prepare Inspector's Daily Work Reports (MURK 1) documenting contractor operations, materials, and equipment Perform field measurements and assist with quantity computations and payment documentation Inspect concrete placement, formwork, and reinforcement placement for compliance with plans and specs Inspect asphalt pavement placement and surface work within project limits Monitor construction site conditions for safety and environmental compliance Assist with tracking and logging of materials, deliveries, and contractor submittals Support the Resident Engineer and Senior Inspector with field coordination and reporting tasks Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy project records in accordance with MURK requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
