Controller

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a sports and entertainment organization to identify a Controller in the Arlington, TX area. This role is onsite and will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury activities, and financial controls across multiple business entities.

This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys balancing day-to-day financial operations with strategic business support. The right candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of building strong financial processes while supporting a growing and dynamic organization.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting and financial management experience, including Controller-level responsibilities
• Strong experience managing month-end and year-end close processes
• Ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements across multiple entities
• Experience leading accounting teams and overseeing AP, AR, and general accounting functions

Preferred:

• Experience within entertainment, hospitality, sports, events, or other consumer-facing industries
• Background supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
• Experience with cash management, treasury functions, and banking relationships
• Strong knowledge of accounting controls, compliance, and financial reporting standards
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with modern accounting systems
