About the Position

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience License: Current NC or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: - Open availability for scheduling - Ability to float between High Risk and Labor and Delivery - Experience with Epic charting system Description: Targeted start date is September 8, 2026. May consider September 21 starts. Interviews will be conducted virtually. Recent Labor and Delivery experience is required. Certifications must be in hand at the time of submission. The schedule does not allow for blocked scheduling. Weekends are required every other weekend. Floating between High Risk and Labor and Delivery units will be necessary. Candidates are not considered first-time travelers. Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are welcome. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates should have experience with patient ratios. High acuity patients may be present in this role. Expect regular patient care responsibilities including administering medications and monitoring fetal health. Caring for both high and low-risk patients is part of the job. Experience with labor management, postpartum care, and neonatal resuscitation is essential. Must be prepared for hemorrhage management and other obstetric emergencies. Daily patient census is approximately 25. Historical patient volume includes 350-450 deliveries per month. Candidates should have excellent communication and teamwork skills. Prompt compliance with requirements is expected throughout the contract period. Attendance will be monitored, and three absences are permitted per contract. Modules must be completed as part of ongoing education requirements. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and adherence to protocols.
