Location : Remote opportunity based in California. Candidates must live within reasonable proximity to Los Angeles, Sacramento, Orange County, or Ventura. The hiring process can begin via Zoom, with an in-person interview required before hire.

Note : Active California Bar membership and at least 2 years of California workers compensation experience are required. We welcome qualified attorneys from law firms, in-house counsel teams, and solo practices. We are especially interested in attorneys seeking a genuine long-term opportunity with our team.

Job Description

• Manage a full caseload of California workers compensation defense matters with varying levels of complexity
• Open new files, evaluate claims, and develop effective litigation plans and case strategies
• Conduct written discovery, depositions, investigations, and other case development activities
• Prepare for and make appearances before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board
• Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout each matter
• Draft persuasive legal correspondence, pleadings, reports, and settlement documents
• Evaluate exposure and provide practical recommendations designed to move cases toward effective resolution
• Maintain organized files, deadlines, reporting requirements, and litigation calendars
• Collaborate with attorneys and support professionals while independently driving assigned matters forward

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• 2+ years of California workers compensation law experience
• Experience managing workers compensation matters and litigation responsibilities
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and a full caseload
• Strong work ethic, sound professional judgment, and commitment to ethical practice
• Genuine interest in building a long-term career with an established defense practice
• Law firm, in-house counsel, and solo practice backgrounds will be considered
