Property Management Assistant

SPM Properties, Inc. is looking for a Property Management Assistant who enjoys keeping details organized, solving problems, and helping residents and coworkers. You will join an experienced, collaborative team at a company known for long-term employee tenure and opportunities to grow. This is more than an administrative position. You will gain hands-on experience in residential property operations, leasing, resident relations, compliance, maintenance coordination, inspections, and Yardi reporting. What You’ll Do Prepare leases, addenda, resident notices, letters, and other property documents Maintain accurate property information and electronic files in Yardi Update availability, move-out, rent-ready, leasing, and marketing information Assist with advertising, showing coordination, move-ins, and move-outs Communicate professionally with residents, applicants, vendors, and team members Coordinate work orders, repairs, unit turnovers, vendor appointments, and inspections Assist with property reports and required follow-up Support compliance with Fair Housing requirements, landlord-tenant laws, local ordinances, and company procedures What Will Help You Succeed Strong organization, communication, follow-through, and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines A professional and service-focused approach Comfortable learning new systems and working in Microsoft 365 One year of administrative, customer service, leasing, housing, or property management experience preferred; strong entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to visit local properties as assigned High school diploma or equivalent required Based in our Walnut Creek office; this is not a remote position Local travel to managed properties may be required Compensation $25.00-$29.00 per hour. Starting pay will be based on directly related experience, Yardi proficiency, property management and compliance knowledge, and possession of an active California real estate license. The position is eligible for overtime and company benefits in accordance with applicable plans and eligibility requirements. Why SPM Properties?
