Construction Technician

Construction Technician Location: Rockford, IL or Janesville, WI About the role Baxter & Woodman offers a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Technician to support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects, from roadways to underground utility installations. This role supports planning, design, and construction of diverse facilities and engages directly with clients. Responsibilities Support construction projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Perform quantity computation and construction layout/survey tasks. Observe, measure, and document construction activities. Complete daily construction reports in a timely manner. Assist project engineers and managers with diverse tasks during project delivery. Provide general civil engineering and client services. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired, or related field experience. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Construction Inspector or Technician on construction projects. Effective written and verbal communication skills with residents, businesses, and public agencies. Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin area (own transportation). Strong teamwork, written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills. Compensation Hourly pay range: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages vary by skill set, experience, and certifications.
