As Manufacturing Supervisor — Chemical Processing at Sinse Cannabis, you'll run point on hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction, post-processing, and distillation — working hands-on alongside your team while owning the schedule, the batch records, and the standard for safety and quality on the floor. This is a working-supervisor role for someone who wants real technical ownership and a direct hand in developing the people around them. You'll lead a team of 2–4 Manufacturing Technicians and report directly to the Manufacturing Manager. Pay starts at $26.00/hour, with a clear, merit-based path up to $31.00/hour as you prove out key competencies and take on greater responsibility. Starting rate is based on your experience level coming in. A Missouri Agent ID is required, and all candidates must be 21 years of age or older.

About the Role The Manufacturing Supervisor — Chemical Processing leads a small team of manufacturing technicians in the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all chemical processing workflows. This role is hands-on by design: you'll work the floor alongside your team while providing day-to-day direction, ensuring adherence to SOPs and cGMP standards, and serving as the go-to technical resource for chemical processing operations. What sets this role apart from a Manufacturing Technician III is direct supervisory accountability — ownership of daily production scheduling and task assignment, authority to review and approve batch records, and responsibility for escalating personnel and process issues to the Manufacturing Manager. You'll be expected to model best practices in safety, compliance, and technical execution while actively developing the technicians you lead.

What You'll Do Team Leadership & Supervision

• Directly supervise a team of 2–4 Manufacturing Technicians assigned to chemical processing workflows
• Assign daily tasks and production priorities, ensuring adequate personnel coverage and efficient workflow execution
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and real-time coaching during extraction, post-processing, and distillation operations
• Conduct regular performance check-ins, document observations, and communicate feedback and concerns to the Manufacturing Manager
• Lead onboarding, training, and qualification of new technicians on chemical processing equipment, safety protocols, and SOPs
• Foster a team culture grounded in safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Escalate personnel issues, production blockers, or safety concerns to the Manufacturing Manager promptly and with appropriate documentation

Chemical Processing Operations

• Actively participate in and supervise all chemical processing workflows: hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction, post-processing, and distillation
• Oversee and execute full-cycle hydrocarbon extraction including pre-run preparation, closed-loop operation, solvent recovery, and post-run cleanup in strict compliance with safety protocols and internal SOPs
• Supervise and perform ethanol extraction processes including material loading, solvent chilling, wash cycles, filtration, and solvent recovery
• Oversee and execute post-processing operations
• Execute and supervise distillation runs including equipment cleaning and yield documentation
• Ensure proper startup, operation, and shutdown of all processing equipment according to established procedures
• Monitor process parameters across all workflows; intervene immediately when deviations occur and initiate CAPA documentation

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Schedule, perform, and oversee routine preventive maintenance across all chemical processing equipment — including inspection and replacement of gaskets, seals, and filters; lubrication of fittings and valves; calibration of pressure gauges and temperature sensors; and cleaning of condensers, coils, and collection vessels
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process deviations; coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and document all corrective actions
• Proactively identify equipment wear or process inefficiencies and escalate to the Manufacturing Manager with recommended solutions

Compliance, Documentation & Quality

• Ensure all chemical processing activities comply with Missouri DCR regulations, cGMP guidelines (21 CFR), NFPA 30 / OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 flammable liquid handling requirements, and internal SOPs
• Review and approve production batch records, equipment logs, and run data for accuracy and completeness prior to submission
• Oversee accurate solvent tracking, mass balance documentation, and flammable liquid storage compliance per NFPA 30 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106; flag and investigate unexplained cannabis product losses per MO RSMo 579.068 and DEA 21 CFR 1304 requirements
• Maintain METRC compliance for all extract and distillate production; ensure timely and accurate batch entries
• Lead or participate in SOP development, review, and revision for chemical processing workflows
• Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and quality investigations; ensure the processing area is inspection-ready at all times
• Ensure all chemical storage, handling, and disposal practices comply with related regulations
• Accurately weigh, measure, count, and label materials and products per established procedures

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the chemical processing team and the Manufacturing Manager for daily operational updates, yield reporting, and deviation communication
• Communicate production status, yields, and deviations clearly in shift handoff documentation
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager

What We're Looking For Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 3–5 years of hands-on cannabis or chemical processing experience, with demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following: hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction, post-processing, or short-path/wiped-film distillation
• Prior supervisory or lead technician experience strongly preferred

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Strong working knowledge of cGMP (21 CFR), Missouri DCR regulations, NFPA 30 / OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 flammable liquid handling, DEA 21 CFR 1304 controlled substance recordkeeping, and METRC
• Proven ability to read, interpret, enforce, and author SOPs and batch record requirements
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; comfortable with yield calculations, mass balance reconciliation, and process data review
• Ability to use industrial scales, measuring instruments, and computerized process monitoring systems
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration, team direction, and documentation

Licensing & Legal Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Missouri Agent ID prior to or shortly after hire
• Must be at least 21 years of age
