Utility-Scale Solar O&M Technician

Location: Fountain, CO

Compensation: $80,000 Base Salary + 20% Annual Bonus

As a Solar O&M Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the performance of a utility-scale solar facility. You will diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system issues while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar equipment and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, PLC, SCADA, communication, and control system failures.
• Inspect, test, and maintain medium-voltage and high-voltage equipment, including switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, and collection systems.
• Support commissioning, system testing, and startup activities.
• Analyze equipment failures, perform root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor system performance utilizing SCADA, networking, and remote monitoring platforms.
• Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and specialty service providers.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
• Respond to equipment alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and emergency situations.
• Follow all OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and site-specific safety procedures.

• 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in utility-scale solar, power generation, industrial, or related environments.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining mechanical equipment and preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to read and interpret:
  • One-line diagrams
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Control schematics
  • Technical manuals and specifications
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and energized electrical work procedures.
• Experience working with control systems and automation technologies.

• Medium-voltage or high-voltage electrical maintenance experience.
• PLC troubleshooting and programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms).
• Experience with SCADA systems, communications equipment, networking, and fiber optics.
• Electrical license, NABCEP certification, OSHA certifications, or NFPA 70E training.
• Military electrical or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Background in power generation, transmission & distribution, renewable energy, manufacturing, or heavy industrial maintenance.
• Experience overseeing contractors, vendors, or maintenance teams.

This position is primarily based outdoors and requires working in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. You'll traverse uneven terrain, work at heights when necessary, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear required PPE. Occasional overtime, emergency call-outs, and schedule adjustments may be required to support plant operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain, CO.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $46.15/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
