Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview Registered Nurse – Med/Surg, Rochester, NY. Travel assignment starting 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,049 to $2,198 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotations (days/evenings/nights). Work in an inpatient unit focused on end-of-life symptom management with general medicine overflow. Telemetry experience is NOT required. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,049 – $2,198 per week Assignment length: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour rotations (D/E/N) Location: Rochester, NY, United States No guaranteed hours Telemetry experience not required On-call per unit need Inpatient unit with adult patients (18+), end-of-life symptom management and general medicine overflow Responsibilities Deliver direct bedside nursing care to adult patients on the unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and respond promptly; advocate for patients and families in crisis Administer medications and therapies per protocol, including IV therapy and wound care; manage analgesia needs and chart outcomes Support symptom management at end of life, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and palliative care services Perform accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses; ensure safety and quality standards Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team; participate in rounds and care conferences Rotate through D/E/N shifts and participate in weekends/holidays as required by unit need Requirements Active NYS RN license Minimum 2 years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience BLS certification from the American Heart Association Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification highly desired Ability to work in an inpatient adult unit; strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Ability to manage complex patient needs and family conversations; comfortable with on-call per unit needs Education Active NYS RN license required Benefits and Support Competitive weekly pay 13‑week assignment with potential extension opportunities Ongoing assignment support from a dedicated recruiter Travel coordination assistance and onboarding support Pay Disclaimer: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
