Company Overview CRISTA Ministries operates King’s Schools, a Christian educational program located in Shoreline, WA. Position Summary The Assistant Cross Country Coach II will provide a Christ‑centered environment for student‑athletes to excel as individuals and as members of a team, supporting King’s Schools athletic mission and bringing innovative ideas to the field. Responsibilities Yearly Preparation Understand and teach Cross Country rules from the WIAA Handbook, conference guidelines, and NFHS rule book. Stay current with rule changes and new developments by attending coaching clinics and workshops. Assist the head coach in carrying out assigned responsibilities and promoting the school’s athletic programs. Support the head coach and maintain a professional, Christ‑centered demeanor. Review the coach’s handbook and King’s Child Protection Policy. Seasonal Responsibilities Pre‑Season: Complete required rules clinic. Assist with participant registration and equipment issuance. Meet participants to explain rules and the Athletic Code. Attend planning meetings with the head coach. During the Season: Attend all practices and contests. Model Christ‑like conduct and uphold ethical, professional standards. Implement the Athletic Core Covenants and manage equipment and facilities. Check and report equipment condition and loss. Supervise athletes and enforce discipline positively. Emphasize safety, injury prevention, and emergency procedures. Promote sportsmanship and citizenship. Assist in program evaluation and educational support for participants. End of Season: Return, store, and inventory equipment; report findings. Recommend athlete awards and attend awards night. Provide feedback on facility maintenance and schedule improvements. Submit reports to the head coach and athletic director. Conduct Coaches must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). Essential Qualifications Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Committed Christian with ongoing spiritual growth (daily prayer, Bible study, fellowship). Prayerfully seeks God’s will in personal life and ministry. Engages staff and colleagues in spiritual practices and devotionals. Affirms CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and CCC. Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader. Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience Previous coaching experience recommended. Licensure / Certification Coaching certification through FinalForms. Other Considerations Pass background check per DSHS Secretary’s List. Agree with King’s mission and vision. Optionally possess and maintain van certification. Maintain valid CPR/AED/First Aid card. Meet or exceed WIAA coaching standards annually. Understand King’s School philosophy and goals. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Cross Country coaching experience preferred.
