Role Description The Personal Lines Underwriter is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Phoenix Area. This position is responsible for evaluating and underwriting personal lines insurance applications, including auto and home policies, to determine risk and appropriate coverage and pricing. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing policy information, analyzing risk factors, applying underwriting guidelines, and making informed decisions on new business, renewals, and policy changes. The Personal Lines Underwriter collaborates with agents and internal teams to clarify underwriting requirements, provide guidance, and ensure policies align with company standards. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, supporting continuous improvement of underwriting processes, and contributing to excellent customer service and profitability. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Personal Insurance and underwriting principles, with experience evaluating auto and home coverage. Demonstrated Analytical Skills to assess risk, interpret data, and apply underwriting criteria consistently. Effective Communication skills for interacting with agents, colleagues, and customers, both verbally and in writing. Underwriting expertise and familiarity with Insurance industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Ability to work on-site in the Greater Phoenix Area, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail. Proficiency with common office software and insurance systems; comfort learning new tools and technologies. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
