Family Law Legal Assistant

Peak Partners has an established mid-size Baltimore law firm who is seeking a skilled Legal Administrative Assistant with at least five years of experience to join its Family Law team. As a key member of the firm, you will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys by managing Family Law cases, maintaining clear and consistent client communication, and ensuring that all case-related documents, records, and bills are accurate and up to date. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an experienced and collegial team that handles a wide array of Family Law matters. Key Responsibilities Maintain orderly digital and hard-copy case files while safeguarding confidential client information and preserving records in a timely manner. Manage competing priorities, meet frequent deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced legal environment. Work with discovery coordination, civil litigation support, and trial preparation activities. Provide administrative support to assigned attorneys and/or paralegals Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail, directing them to the appropriate personnel Maintain up-to-date and accurate case notes in an advanced case management system Efficiently handle the opening and processing of cases/files, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained Requesting and organizing supporting documentation Meeting and taking phone calls with clients daily for both follow up and/or new intake Qualifications Minimum of five years of experience as a legal administrative assistant in a law firm setting Working knowledge of legal terminology, litigation procedures, and Maryland state court filing practices Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, error-free legal documents Experience with managing attorney calendars/scheduling, and drafting documents including correspondence, pleadings, binders, and reports is required Proficiency in document management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe needed Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment High level of discretion and professionalism Ability to work independently and part of a team Prior exposure to family law matters is strongly preferred Proficiency with case management software and standard legal office technology Salary Range $70,000-$90,000 annually / Hybrid 3 days in and 2 days remote if you want #J-18808-Ljbffr Peak Partners
