Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our MedSurg team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical environment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote optimal patient health and recovery.
Administer medications and monitor vital signs, recognizing and responding to changes in patient conditions.
Manage titratable drips for analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives as required.
Participate in the orientation of new staff and act as a resource for staff members.
Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements and unit needs.

Shift Details

Night shift with a length of 12 hours.
Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Minimum of six weekend shifts required within a six-week schedule.
Ability to float within Zone 4 if necessary during extreme staffing needs.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
A minimum of 2 years of MedSurg nursing experience.
Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA).
Experience in managing and titrating drips.

Unit Information

Unit Type: Med Surgical (MedSurg).
Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 1:5.
Common patient diagnoses include congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, respiratory conditions, and gastrointestinal issues.

Additional Requirements

Participate in a comprehensive orientation program, with instructions provided during orientation week.
Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available.
Navy blue scrubs are to be worn as per the dress code.
