About the Role

The Senior Account Executive – Life Sciences is a pivotal senior position within our Business Development Team, reporting to the Director of Business Development for the Life Sciences vertical. In this role, you will collaborate with the Director and VP to define and lead the business development strategy for the Life Sciences industry. You will work across our service and product delivery teams (BI, Systems Integration, Automation, etc.) to identify and execute new opportunities. A successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, driving forecast accuracy, and contributing to a best-in-class sales team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Account Management

• Develop and lead comprehensive sales strategies for the Life Sciences vertical.
• Create and maintain account plans to achieve annual goals and sales forecasts within an assigned account package.
• Support the Director of Business Development in achieving annual goals and sales forecasts within the assigned Vertical Industry.
• Act as the account owner for 1 Strategic Account, 10-15 Focused Accounts, and 3-5 Target Accounts.
• Establish new and grow existing customer relationships to secure contracts that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.

Business Development & Prospecting

• Identify opportunities to deliver value, understand strategic motivators, map buying processes, and forecast sales.
• Research assigned clients and potential contacts to expand accounts.
• Identify target accounts for new business prospecting within the Vertical Industry.
• Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales.
• Develop and drive business initiatives for future success.
• Identify sales opportunities using direct methods (e.g., calling, face-to-face meetings) and indirect methods (e.g., networking).
• Qualify opportunities against company criteria for ideal customers, projects, and sales.
• Consult with prospects about business challenges, requirements, and the range of solutions and cost benefits.
• Participate in introductions to new customers or contacts.
• Maintain a high level of relevant domain knowledge to conduct meaningful conversations with prospects.

Collaboration & Tools

• Collaborate with delivery and product (engineering services) teams, technical staff, operations, and product specialists to address customer requirements, problems, and opportunities.
• Utilize Salesforce for creating and managing opportunities, accounts, and contacts.
• Utilize Microsoft Teams for internal communication regarding accounts and opportunities.
