Director, North American B2B Secular Shift – Construction & Trades Mastercard is the world’s leading payments network, powering economies across 200+ countries. In the North American market, the Commercial & New Payments Flows team is focused on driving growth in the B2B payments segment, especially within construction and trades. This role spearheads the commercialization of Mastercard’s solutions in that segment. Responsibilities Lead and execute the Construction & Trades Secular Shift go‑to‑market strategy across NAM, focusing on both existing and new issuer partners and new distribution channels, expanding Mastercard’s footprint, growing market share, and strengthening our leadership position. Collaborate cross‑functionally with the broader Commercial and New Payment Flows team to partner and cross‑sell our solutions. Work closely with Account and Business Development teams to engage clients, identify high‑potential opportunities, build a strong and dynamic sales pipeline, and close deals. Drive commercialization efforts by coordinating with stakeholders from Finance, Sales, Marketing, Franchise, and Customer Delivery to ensure seamless execution of segment initiatives and adequate resources. Ensure construction & trades related narrative—needs‑based and customer‑centric—is championed throughout the organization and with clients and prospects. Support client‑facing negotiations, leading or co‑leading key deals, ensuring segment incentives are included and aligning Mastercard’s value proposition with client needs. Track and manage pipeline performance using SFDC and commercialization tools and processes for timely follow‑up and issue resolution. Champion internal alignment across all product groups, Finance, Sales Excellence to generate buy‑in and momentum from senior leadership. Develop and promote SMB growth strategies, identifying best practices and scalable models that drive measurable results in issuer portfolios. Foster sales enablement by creating compelling client materials, training sessions, and use‑case content tailored to SMB needs and opportunities. Qualifications Construction & Trades obsessed: deep, hands‑on understanding of POS and invoice payments in the construction & trades segment, the systems and infrastructure that support it, payment options available, and the drivers for issuers and acquirers. Driven by momentum and a sense of urgency: operate with pace, prioritize what matters most, and push through obstacles. Catalyst for transformation: motivated by shifting entrenched behaviors, particularly moving legacy payment flows (cash, check, ACH) toward modern, card‑based solutions. Commercially sharp: connect customer needs to business outcomes, identify high‑value use cases, articulate compelling value propositions, and translate strategy into adoption and spend growth. Influential leader: lead through influence, not hierarchy, bringing together product, sales, marketing, and operations partners around a shared goal and clear execution plan. Data‑guided, customer‑grounded: balance quantitative insight with qualitative understanding, using both to prioritize, make decisions, and tell a clear story to senior leaders. Ownership mindset: act like an owner—taking accountability for outcomes, learning quickly, and continuously raising the bar for results. Compensation and Benefits In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions, depending on the role. The base salary range for this position is $182,000 – $291,000 USD (United States).
