As Executive Director, you will be the onsite leader responsible for bringing vision to action. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, strengthen hospital operations, build community partnerships, champion exceptional patient care, and ensure the organization operates at the highest standards of quality, compliance, and fiscal responsibility. What You Bring Minimum Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Clinical Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Experience : Minimum of 7 years of healthcare experience, at least 3 years in a senior healthcare leadership role, demonstrated success leading licensure, accreditation, and compliance efforts within a healthcare facility, strong understanding of financial management and business development. Experience in inpatient behavioral health or acute psychiatric care preferred. Licensure & Certifications : Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required. Professional licensure preferred, but not required. Preferred Qualifications : Candidates with the following are strongly encouraged to apply: MBA or MHA, advanced clinical licensure, inpatient behavioral health or acute psychiatric leadership experience, experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams, demonstrated success with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational transformation initiatives, technology skills, intermediate computer skills, including: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook email, typing/keyboarding The Leader We're Looking For You are an experienced healthcare executive who knows how to lead through complexity without losing sight of people. You bring at least seven years of healthcare experience, including three or more years in a senior leadership role, along with a demonstrated ability to lead successful licensure, accreditation, compliance, and operational initiatives. You understand that strong healthcare organizations require both heart and discipline. You can evaluate a budget, navigate regulatory requirements, develop a business strategy, coach a leader, engage an employee, and walk onto a patient unit with the same level of presence and purpose. Experience in an inpatient behavioral health or acute psychiatric environment is strongly preferred. Why This Role Matters Behavioral health leadership requires more than operational expertise. In this role, you will: Lead the day-to-day operations of a behavioral health hospital serving children and families. Ensure clinical, operational, financial, regulatory, and business objectives are aligned. Champion evidence-based psychiatric treatment and innovative approaches to care. Build meaningful relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, businesses, and other partners. Represent the hospital as a trusted community leader and advocate for the children and families it serves. Ensure the hospital consistently meets or exceeds state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, contractual requirements, and organizational expectations. What You Will Own Hospital Leadership & Operations Lead the hospital's day-to-day operations through effective delegation, departmental alignment, accountability, and strategic decision-making. You will oversee key performance areas including: Patient care outcomes and quality Patient and employee safety Fiscal performance and financial management Environment of Care standards Licensure and accreditation Regulatory and contractual compliance Medical staff compliance Employee engagement and performance Community relationships and partnerships People & Culture Great care starts with great people. Quality, Safety & Compliance You will serve as a key leader in ensuring the hospital operates with the highest standards of care and compliance. This includes maintaining working knowledge of and ensuring adherence to: State and federal healthcare regulations The Joint Commission (TJC) Council on Accreditation (COA) Contractual requirements KVC policies and procedures Applicable medical staff requirements You will also lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies and procedures that promote quality, safety, and effective treatment. Business & Community Leadership You will help ensure the hospital remains responsive to the needs of the community it serves. This includes: Developing relationships with government agencies, healthcare providers, businesses, referral partners, and community organizations. Identifying opportunities for business development and service growth. Understanding changes in behavioral healthcare systems and adapting programs accordingly. Managing and directing contract negotiations and compliance with commercial payors, including rates and services. Partnering with KVC leadership and shared services to advance organizational priorities. Working with the KVC HSI Legal Department on management agreements, consultation agreements, and other contracts. Patient-Centered Leadership You won't lead this hospital solely from an office. The Executive Director regularly rounds throughout the facility and interacts directly with patients and staff to understand their experiences, identify opportunities for improvement, and reinforce a culture of compassionate, high-quality care. You will help ensure every aspect of the hospital reflects a commitment to children and families.
