In this role, you will leverage virtual platforms to conduct assessment sessions and therapy, ensuring accessibility and continuity of care for clients in their own environments. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health status through structured interviews and standardized assessment tools. Develop individualized treatment plans based on thorough evaluations that incorporate clients' strengths, challenges, and personal goals. Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing techniques that are tailored to the specific needs of clients, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, or other evidence-based modalities. Facilitate group and family therapy sessions when necessary, creating a safe and supportive environment for discussing shared experiences and fostering mutual understanding. Monitor and document clients' progress in clinical records, adjusting treatment plans as required to reflect evolving needs and goals. Collaborate with fellow mental health professionals, including psychologists and social workers, to provide holistic care, participate in case consultations, and ensure wraparound services. Engage in continuous professional development through training and workshops, staying informed about the latest research, therapeutic approaches, and ethical standards in mental health counseling. Patient Population / Client Focus At Westwood Behavioral Health Center, we serve a diverse clientele, encompassing various age groups and backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our team is dedicated to understanding and addressing a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and other emotional difficulties. Counseling sessions are delivered with cultural competence, ensuring that all clients feel recognized, respected, and understood in their treatment journey. Qualifications A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field is required. A valid and active state license as a mental health counselor (e.g., LMHC, LPC). A minimum of two years of direct experience providing mental health counseling in clinical settings. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly with clients. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to shared treatment goals. A solid grasp of evidence-based practices and a commitment to ethical and client-centered care. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMRs) and telehealth technology to document sessions and track client care. Preferred Experience Experience in a community-based setting or with underserved populations is highly valued. Certification in evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), is a plus. Familiarity with conducting assessments and evaluations for various mental health concerns. Compensation and Benefits We offer a highly competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with additional incentives such as a sign-on bonus.
