Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician

Position Overview The role supports our Morristown, NJ branch, serving customers throughout the greater New York City area. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs Respond swiftly to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality, reporting on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material Identify code and non‑conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects Plan work with mentor, lead technicians, and supervisors to strategize tasks effectively Perform the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems, inspecting, testing, operating, and maintaining components as required Mentor less experienced technicians, providing on‑the‑job training to foster a culture of growth and knowledge sharing Basic Qualifications 1+ year of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; eligible to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continuous and permanent basis without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred 3+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems Ability to read and understand design and construction documents Pay Range The pay range for this position is $58,976 - $101,102 annually, depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
