MEP Precon Manager

Summary:The MEP Precon Manager is responsible for preparing complete and accurate estimates on large and complex construction projects. The MEP Precon Manager is expected to build effective relationships with team members, external customers, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. This is an onsite position based in one of our offices located in Alpharetta, GA; Greenville, SC; Charlotte, NC; or Raleigh, NC.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for design-build, conceptual and plans/specs estimating, specifically in the manufacturing and life science market sectorsAnalyze project specifications, including but not limited to sketches, blueprints and sample layouts, to determine estimated costs and pricingPrepare quantity take-offs and estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required to meet the provisions of the contractSolicit and review quotes from vendors, suppliers and subcontractorsWork with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans, specifications and general project requirementsDetailed knowledge of pricing and costs for materials, labor, subcontractors and equipment for all trade disciplinesAbility to manage multiple preconstruction projectsPrepare cost analysis by reviewing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of itemsAttend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visitsBuilds effective relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors and clientsReview awarded projects and compare cost on a timely basis to as-sold estimates to confirm accuracy of estimatePerforms other duties as assignedOther Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management or Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 7+ years’ experience as an MEP Precon Manager/Estimator for a General ContractorAbility to develop concept-level estimates for MEP/process systems from limited informationProficient with Onscreen TakeoffStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Office SuiteDetail-oriented, with strong organization skillsAbility to work in a team environmentPossess a strong work ethic
