RN - Infusion

Registered Nurse

The position requires a registered nurse specializing in outpatient infusion and oncology. Shifts will be 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, typically from 07:30 to 16:00, with variability in start times. No holidays or weekends are required. The nurse will administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy to oncology patients, as well as manage hematology and non-oncology infusions. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of around 70 patients. The unit is designed with private rooms and chairs to accommodate treatment. The nurse must possess skills in accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and recognizing and managing side effects. The role involves patient and family education and support, as well as collaboration with interdisciplinary support services. Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values are also critical responsibilities. Candidates should have experience in managing central lines and performing therapeutic phlebotomy. Chemo certification is mandatory for the role, and experienced inpatient oncology nurses may also be considered. Overall, the position requires a patient-centric approach with a focus on safety and effective treatment delivery.
