Sunny Glen Children’s Home – Trainer Position Job Details: Location: SGCH New Tomorrow Resiliency Center - Brownsville, TX 78526. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: High School. Travel Percentage: Up to 25%. Job Shift: Day. Job Category: Training. Summary: The Trainer will support the training department in partnership with the Staff Development Coordinator and Lead Trainer. Responsibilities include providing support, ensuring all staff have necessary certifications and continued training to meet state licensing standards and organizational requirements. The Trainer promotes the mission and vision of Sunny Glen Children’s Home and fosters a positive training environment where employees can enhance their professional growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Implement and support development of training courses per State Licensing Standards and ORR requirements. Communicate and collaborate with leadership on required training execution and direction for all staff. Organize training materials and locations and prepare them prior to all sessions. Maintain employee training records and secure attendance records. Assist in developing an annual training calendar and distribute it to staff upon approval. Enroll new employees in Paycom’s web‑based training to track and record completion. Ensure compliance with Sunny Glen Children’s Home, state, and federal training requirements. Meet with employees requiring additional training and coaching services. Utilize methods to enhance professional skills for training preparation. Create safe and inclusive learning environments of respect and rapport for all staff. Attend all organizational required training sessions. Identify and attend workshops that enhance professional skills in education, direct supervision, vocational, OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant topics. Become a certified instructor for First Aid/CPR and Handle with Care (HWC) that promotes Effective Behavioral Intervention (EBI). Attend department and program meetings to receive updates on policy changes. Assist in the evacuation of youth during inclement weather or emergencies. Travel as needed for training, conferences, or youth transportation within the U.S. Adapt to change productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned. Experience: 1 year of training experience (preferred). Bilingual in English/Spanish. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Paycom, and Electronic Case Management software. Valid Texas Driver’s License. Record of tuberculosis screening showing no contagious TB. Physical Demands Regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hands. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and restrain youth up to 200 lbs. Must maintain visual and auditory supervision of multiple children, make quick decisions, tolerate frustration, and balance mental toughness with compassion. Work Environment Exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise levels. Must function in a noisy environment.
