Division Head of Behavioral Neurology

Henry Ford Medical Group’s Department of Neurology is seeking a board‑certified Neurologist for the position of Division Head of Behavioral Neurology, responsible for leadership of clinical and research programs in aging, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities Assume the Paul C. Alandt Endowed Chair of Behavioral Neurology, focusing on reducing the burden of dementia and related neurodegenerative conditions. Provide visionary leadership to expand the robust clinical trials unit to include government and industry‑funded trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. Elevate the Henry Ford Center for Cognitive Health, focusing on early diagnosis and intervention for Alzheimer’s disease. Provide direct patient care and educational initiatives, including teaching medical students, Neurology and Psychiatry residents, and Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology fellows. Opportunities Conduct population‑based epidemiological studies and clinical trials in Behavioral Neurology. Collaborate with the NIH‑funded Henry Ford Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program that will collect genetic information and biological samples from 180,000 patients in the Henry Ford Health System and >1 million nationwide. Work with the 10‑person interdisciplinary Memory Clinic team to elevate the Center for Cognitive Health. Develop and test complementary therapeutics in collaboration with the Henry Ford Center for Integrative Medicine and continue community outreach with the Greater Michigan Alzheimer’s Association. Collaborate with the Department of Population Health, basic science laboratories, and the Henry Ford Innovation Institute to fast‑track scientific discovery from bench to bedside. Possibility of a tenure‑track academic appointment through Michigan State University – College of Human Medicine and Wayne State School of Medicine. Qualifications Board certified in Neurology. Must have completed or currently completing a Behavioral Neurology Fellowship. A proven track record of successful, high‑impact funded clinical research is desired.
