Patent Attorney / Patent Agent (EE / CS / Physics) Location: Montgomery County, MD (On‑Site with Occasional Hybrid Flexibility) Compensation: $105,000 - $260,000+ (Commensurate with experience) + Annual Hours Bonus + Benefits Position Type: Full-Time Role Must-Haves Location: We prefer candidates reside in or near Montgomery County, MD (Local candidates only; regular on‑site collaboration is required). USPTO Credentials: Active registration as a U.S. Patent Attorney (JD required + state bar admission) or USPTO Patent Agent. Experience: Minimum 2 years of substantial patent application drafting experience. Ideally experience coming from a high volume firm and now looking for more work/life balance. Key Responsibilities Patent Drafting & Prosecution: Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications; conduct examiner interviews and prepare USPTO responses/appeals. Specialized Technology Focus: Prepare application materials across advanced technologies, with a strong focus on Networking, 5G, and AI , alongside optical devices, network security, medical electronics, and database systems. Global Strategy & Counseling: Instruct foreign counsel on international filings, participate in IPR proceedings, and perform patentability, clearance, and validity studies with client counseling. Qualifications Active USPTO Patent Attorney or Patent Agent registration. 2+ years of hands‑on patent drafting experience in relevant tech sectors. Strong technical background in Networking, 5G, or AI technologies highly preferred. Degree in EE, CS, or Physics with excellent academic credentials. (Required) Exceptional technical writing, analytical, and communication skills. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $105,000 - $260,000+ (Based on title and experience).
