About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. The CFO will be the principal steward of the organization's financial health, sustainability, and strategic fiscal direction. This role is pivotal in ensuring strong financial management, regulatory compliance, and transparency within a complex, grant-funded nonprofit environment. The successful candidate will lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term fiscal strategy, and will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial analysis to support executive decision-making. The CFO will also oversee cash flow management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation, and will partner closely with the Chief Development Officer to align financial planning with fundraising projections. Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree or CPA preferred, and a minimum of 5 years' of senior-level financial leadership experience, ideally within a large complex nonprofit or grant-funded environment. The role requires expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and financial systems management, as well as a strong understanding of federal compliance requirements. The CFO will be expected to maintain hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting operations, lead the finance team, and promote a culture of accountability and collaboration. Proficiency in financial systems, particularly Blackbaud Financial Edge or comparable platforms, is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights to support organizational growth.
