Development Associate

Department : Houston PublicMedia Salary : $40,400.00-$63,000.00 Description : ** INTERNAL UH EMPLOYEES ONLY POSTING Participates in the development and implementation ofadvancement programs (annual funds, major gifts, alumni relations,special events, stewardship, public relations, etc.; plans andexecutes related activities and administrative functions; providestechnical knowledge and experience in basic fundraising principlesand advancement activities. Assists development leadership in developing and implementingalumni and donor engagement strategies, donor identification andcultivation, and major gift prospect research. Directly coordinates with donors, faculty, and advancementstaff to facilitate acceptance of gifts in kind, gift transmittals,gift agreements, and naming opportunities. Works with the Office of Annual Giving to develop annual fundsolicitations. Develops and prepares acknowledgements, newsletters,brochures, press releases, reports, correspondence, andinformational and solicitation materials for various advancementactivities. Supports the efforts of the development office to coordinateadvisory board meetings, fundraising events, and activities torecruit volunteers, build relations with alumni, and maintain goodwill with various constituent groups. Provides guidance and supervision as needed to studentorganizations and other volunteer student organizations involved infund-raising and other advancement activities. Executes various administrative functions such as preparingand monitoring budgets. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Department is willing to accept experience in lieu of education. MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of boththeoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical orprofessional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than oneprofessional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normallyobtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree froma college or university or an equivalent in-depth specializedtraining program that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed.
