We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented in house Junior Interior Designer & Project Coordinator to join our elite team. In this role, you will bridge design and execution, serving as a vital link between our clients, field superintendents, trade partners, subcontractors, vendors, and executive leadership to ensure our luxury projects run seamlessly, on schedule, and on budget.

Position Overview

The in house Junior Interior Designer & Project Coordinator will manage the interior design selection process, construct detailed technical drawings, and oversee critical project administrative, like pricing and timeline coordination. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in both interior design and residential custom construction.  They also possess exceptional organizational talents, strong math skills, and a passion for luxury home design at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Design & Client Selections

• Client Consultations: Meet directly with clients to guide them through decorative selections, including but not limited to plumbing fixtures, tile, flooring, cabinetry, lighting, hardware, paint colors, tops, appliances, etc..
• Detailed Drawings: Prepare and draw detailed architectural/interior design drawings, elevations, finish plans, and specs to pass on to subcontractors for precise field execution.
• Selection Schedules: Maintain accurate, up-to-date selection tracking schedules and design documentation to keep clients and field teams aligned.

Estimating, Pricing, & Financial Tracking

• Pricing & Bidding: Price out all design selections, gather supplier/subcontractor pricing, process change orders, and assist senior leadership in preparing fixed-price estimates and budget proposals.
• Order Management: Release and place material purchase orders in a timely manner to prevent project delays.
• Cost & Budget Control: Track project expenses, purchase orders, and invoice approvals against established project budgets to keep all design and coordination efforts on budget.
• Mathematical Accuracy: Perform precise calculations for material quantities, square footage, measurements, and project budgeting.

Project & Construction Coordination

• On-Site Construction Walks: Perform routine on-site construction walks to verify design implementation, review field progress, and resolve site challenges proactively.
• Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Coordinate, schedule, and follow up with subcontractors and vendors; secure required vendor documentation (e.g., insurance certificates, lien waivers).
• Schedule Maintenance: Monitor project timelines closely to ensure trades and vendors remain on schedule.
• Documentation Management: Maintain well-organized project files, contracts, change orders, architectural plans, and specification sheets.
• Daily Office Operations: Manage administrative functions to ensure efficient workflow and clear communication across all active luxury builds.

Client Relations & White-Glove Communication

• White-Glove Service: Serve as a polite, professional, and responsive point of contact for affluent clients, architects, interior designers, and trade partners.
• Client Updates: Prepare project progress updates, coordinate client meetings, and provide clear communication throughout the build process.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in residential custom homebuilding, interior design, or high-end construction management.
• Education & Design Proficiency: Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program & ASID member.  Proficiency in drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp) for creating detailed drawings/elevations is a plus.
• Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of custom residential construction processes, interior finishes, terminology, materials, and phases of building. Able to read architectural plans.
• Organization & Detail: Outstanding multitasking capabilities, extreme attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Mathematical & Estimating Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills to accurately calculate dimensions, scales, material takeoffs, and project budgets.
• Customer Service Excellence: Polished demeanor and impeccable communication skills suited for high-end luxury clientele.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).  Construction management/design software knowledge is a plus.
