Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of PCU experience required License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: IV start experience mandatory Telemetry experience required Description: Weekdays and some weekends are required. Rotating holidays may apply. Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3. Experience in PCU is mandatory. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Specific skills required include IV start and telemetry experience. Staffing and Scheduling: Must be available to float to different units as needed. Weekend coverage is required. Two instances of pre-approved time off are allowed. Patient Care Details: Caring for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, including renal, hepatology, cardiology, and pulmonology. Special procedures include managing cardiac drips, heparin, insulin drip, and starting pressors before transferring to ICU. Experience with high flow oxygen and heated high flow oxygen is necessary. Interdisciplinary support includes various healthcare teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Reference requirements include two professional references, with at least one from a manager or director. No coworker references will be accepted. Former employees may be eligible for a travel assignment after being away for six months or more. Current employees are ineligible for traveler positions. Education must be from an accredited program.
