Water/Wastewater Maintenance Worker

We're hiring a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Worker to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift. This is a union position with strong benefits and a clear path to certification. Pay: $21.40 per hour.

What You'll Do:

• Perform routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater collection systems
• Clean vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools, and other stationary/portable equipment
• Perform routine inspections of vehicles and equipment; carry out minor maintenance and lubrication (oil changes, greasing, etc.)
• Operate and maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools to load, unload, haul, and spread sand, gravel, dirt, and/or waste products; dig and refill ditches and trenches
• Assist operations and maintenance personnel with materials, supplies, and tools
• Maintain grounds and buildings mowing, trimming, raking, and general landscaping care
• Respond to pages and on-call shifts as requested by management
• Work safely and adhere to established safety procedures

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement (required)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must obtain a Level I wastewater certification within 18 months of hire
• Basic knowledge of the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, farm machinery, pumps, and equipment used in water/wastewater systems
• Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in vehicle, equipment, and building maintenance
