Specialist Service Case Manager-TEMP (Marengo & Alvarado)

Position Title SUD Specialist Service Case Manager Reports To Substance Use Disorder Program Director Status Full‑Time - Union Schedule M-F / 8am - 5pm Position Summary Clinica Romero’s Substance Use Disorder Case Manager will provide case management to Court, DCFS, Probation and Self‑Referred clients. They will assist clients in meeting program goals and objectives, document all progress, and facilitate group sessions as needed. They will assist with outreach efforts, promote Drug and Alcohol Department Services to the community, ensure new enrolment outcomes are met, oversee Specialty Service cases, all referrals, classes, individual sessions and groups, and ensure outcomes are reported to the Program Director at all program sites. Responsibilities Provide case management and group sessions to clients experiencing chemical abuse or dependency. Ensure clients meet treatment plan goals and maintain documentation in client charts on time. Complete progress notes, discharge summaries, intakes and all client forms. Maintain 1–2 years of experience in the field. Demonstrate skills in case management and group facilitation. Be registered as CADDE, CATC or CADAC. Recruit new clients across youth and adult populations. Engage the community to refer Clinica Romero as its program of choice. Track Specialty Services attendance, provide progress reports and letters to referral sources or clients as required. Meet with Social Workers, Probation/Parole officers and other referrers by phone, in person and in meetings. Case manage/counsel youths and adults with substance abuse problems (ages 12+). Handle a substantial caseload and deliver quality service. Conduct one‑on‑one sessions and administer crisis intervention and case management. Facilitate and prepare group sessions on various recovery topics. Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner (reports, progress notes, discharge summaries, treatment plans, after‑care plans, etc.). Ensure classes meet on time and curricula are updated at all program sites. Provide transportation for clients to and from the program when needed. Meet with staff to discuss individual progress of shared patients. Provide letters for clients and referring agencies for Anger Management, Domestic Violence and Parenting when needed. Attend community meetings, events and outreach to maintain capacity for specialty services. Perform other assigned duties. Maintain charts related to Parenting, Anger Management and Domestic Violence. Qualifications Certification to facilitate Anger Management and Parenting; working toward certification for Domestic Violence facilitation. Minimum one year of experience facilitating Anger Management, Parenting and Domestic Violence. Minimum one year of experience in the Substance Use Disorder field and addiction. Highly motivated with strong communication skills. Ability to recruit new clients (adults and youth) to the agency. Achieve expected outcomes in terms of new clients attending due to community efforts. Meet goals and objectives set by the Program Manager. Understand the 12 Core Functions of clinical practice. Write individual and group progress notes, treatment plans and other documentation meeting county standards. Experience in group facilitation. Understand the recovery process, including twelve‑step programs. Case manage/counsel clients in recovery. Experience with observed drug testing of clients. Registered Substance Abuse/ Addiction Counselor. Work toward completing required internship hours. Bilingual in English and Spanish; comfortable facilitating all groups and classes in both languages with reading and writing proficiency. Completion of a Certificate of Addiction Studies. Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000 and Excel. Experience working with Drug Medi‑Cal clients (adult and youth) – plus. Understanding of Drug Medi‑Cal requirements/process – plus. Reliable transportation for travel required by the position.
