Submission Constraints: Resume must not exceed 3 pages.Project Overview & ScopeThe Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the Office of Information Technology (OIT). This role involves overseeing, managing, troubleshooting, and administering cloud services, Microsoft platforms, infrastructure, servers, identity management, networking, cybersecurity, and multi-cloud environments. The consultant will work on medium- to high-complexity projects and provide daily operational support, maintenance, and administration for enterprise systems including AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, security, and network management.Education & Experience RequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field; OR equivalent work experience.Required Experience:5 – 8 years: Professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field.3 – 5 years: IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.2 – 3 years: Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.2 – 3 years: IIS Administration.2 – 3 years: Network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.2 – 3 years: Strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems.Highly Desired Experience:3 – 5 years: Professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services.2 – 3 years: Strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems.2 – 3 years: Experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP.2 – 3 years: Professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Job Specific KSAs:Strong analytical skills to determine an organization's needs, develop strategies to meet those needs, and evaluate effectiveness.Ability to categorize work, set priorities, and determine short- and/or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them.Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems effectively regardless of technology platform.Ability to document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual work.Ability to context-switch between multiple subjects & tasks.Ability to effectively communicate and share knowledge with others.Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic business environment.Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures.In-depth knowledge of AWS Services.Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Services.In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server products.In-depth knowledge of Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu).Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and application development technology and architectures.Strong grasp of Linux administration, including Linux patching.General KSAs:Initiative: Comprehend assignments, organize workload, and meet deadlines with little direction.
