Performance Analyst II (1805) - Controller's Office Position Title: 1805-Performance Analyst II. Type: Full‑time, Permanent Exempt (PEX). Salary: $125,528 – $152,646 annually. Overview The Controller’s Office is the City’s chief financial officer, supporting citywide performance improvement. The City Performance team, part of the City Services Auditor, works with city departments to implement data‑driven solutions, streamline processes, and support policy decisions. Responsibilities Analysis, Data Visualization, and Performance Reporting Create data analysis plans and gather, analyze, and visualize qualitative and quantitative data. Use statistical and visualization software (Excel, R, PowerBI, ArcGIS, etc.). Design and analyze data from interviews, focus groups, and surveys; conduct policy, benchmarking, and best‑practice research. Develop dashboards, presentations, and reports to explain complex data to diverse audiences. Help departments identify and implement robust performance measures. Assessments, Process Improvement, and Policy Projects Conduct research, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and draft reports to present findings and actionable opportunities. Apply continuous‑improvement methods (e.g., Lean) to identify and design operational improvements. Produce high‑quality project deliverables with clear insights and recommendations. Develop scopes of work and manage consultant contracts for technical assistance. Facilitation, Communication, and Project Management Facilitate meetings, workshops, and working groups to foster collaboration among stakeholders. Prepare and deliver reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate results. Schedule and Work Environment Hybrid/remote: four days in person at City Hall, one day remote per week. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, statistics, or related field. Master’s degree may substitute one year of experience. Experience: Two years of complex policy analysis, project management, public administration, or consulting; functional understanding of local government operations. Skills: Data analysis, quantitative & qualitative methods, process improvement, project management, stakeholder engagement, facilitation, performance management.
