Furman Kornfeld & Brennan LLP , a well-established, mid-sized New York City litigation defense firm, is looking for a motivated Associate Attorney with 1–2+ years of litigation experience to join our Medical Malpractice and General Liability Defense practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to do more than just research and draft documents. What You'll Be Doing

As an Associate Attorney, you'll gain experience in all phases of litigation while working alongside our team of attorneys.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the management of medical malpractice and general liability defense matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other legal documents.
• Conducting legal research and analyzing complex legal issues.
• Reviewing and analyzing medical records and other case materials.
• Managing discovery and assisting with case investigations.
• Attending court conferences and hearings.
• Preparing for and participating in depositions.
• Working with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.
• Communicating with clients and insurance carriers regarding case developments.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an attorney who is motivated, eager to learn, and excited about building a career in litigation.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 1–2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, general liability, or insurance defense.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Some experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, or court appearances.
• The ability to manage multiple assignments and work collaboratively with other attorneys.
• A willingness to learn, take initiative, and develop courtroom and litigation skills.

Medical malpractice experience is a plus, but not required.
