County Staff Nurse

This is a time limited position. The County Staff Nurse will provide public health nursing services primarily within a county health department clinic under the direction of a County Coordinating Nurse. Duties include conducting patient assessments, development treatment plans, providing health education, referring patients to care, conducting disease control activities, performing direct patient care procedures, home visitation, and serving on emergency/disaster response teams. This is a second-level Professional Registered Nurse accountable for serving as a member of the medical treatment team.

To be successful a candidate should have excellent multitasking, organizational, and communication skills. Employees must prioritize work to meet deadlines and be an effective team player. Need to have knowledge of MSDH programs and use that knowledge effectively to assist clients and/or patients as needed.

Typically requires state licensure as a Registered Nurse and 1-2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
