Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring a compact or Alabama RN license and strong cardiac monitoring skills.

Job Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) of a hospital setting,
• 8-week assignment with night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM),
• Every other weekend required,
• Patient ratio of 1:5,
• Float to MedSurg units as needed,
• Required work settings include MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown,
• Manage cardiac drips without titration,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact),
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Experience with any charting system required,
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required,
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias,
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and IV starts,
• Experience with Heparin protocols required,
• Central line and peripheral line care/management experience,
• Blood product administration experience,
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula and oxygen administration,
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams,
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use,

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and dysrhythmia management for PCU patients,
• Utilize rapid response and code team protocols during emergencies,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position,
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate,
• Requested time off (RTO) is limited to a maximum of 7 days,
• Facility housing is available in shared units with private bedrooms (male or female only, no pets allowed)
