Our integrated Cardiac Rehabilitation Program supports recovery beyond the bedside, while ongoing critical care education and specialized classes empower staff to expand their knowledge, sharpen skills, and grow professionally within a collaborative, patient-focused team.How you'll contribute:Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.Tests equipment for proper working order. Additional requirements include:Associate's degree PreferredEMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN)Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 60 days of hireCompletion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire; Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia courseHandle with Care preferredRequires Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.More about North Alabama Shoals Hospital North Alabama Medical Center is a 263 bed facility that offers the community's only open heart surgery site, a complete line of women's and children's services and a complete line of medical and imaging services.North Alabama Medical Center is a Certified Chest Pain center with a team of cardiologists available 24/7 and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the American Heart/American Stroke Association.
