Traffic Control Technician

Traffic Operations TechnicianIteris is seeking a Traffic Operations Technician to focus on performing a variety of technical activities in support of traffic signal timing, traffic operations and data collection.What you will be doing:Follow standard practice and proceduresAssist with collecting, analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming projects, covering the data collection phase through the project reporting phaseDevelop and implement strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, prepare the development of system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports and mitigation plans, coordinate with local agencies related to the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systemsClosely coordinate with our department groups as neededApply advanced tactics to efficiently move trafficInteract professionally and proactively with clients to ensure clients are highly satisfiedMaintain knowledge of ATMS platforms, optimization software, and analysis software to ensure technical competenceTravel, as required, to participate in re-timing deployments. Length of travel will depend on specific assignments and the successful completion of inherent responsibilitiesWhat you need to be successful in this role:Associate degree in engineering technology or related field (consideration will be given for equivalent experience)Intermediate TTC (MOT) certification is a plusIMSA Traffic Signals Level I certification is a plusTwo (2) years of experience in a technical field preferredTraffic Management Center (TMC) operations knowledge is a plusPractical knowledge of ATMS platforms and traffic signal controllers knowledge is a plusKnowledge of and ability to use Microsoft's Excel, Word programs and SynchroDesire and ability to work in the field at intersectionsIteris anticipates paying between $21.25 and $23.75 for this role.
