Evaluates drafts of design for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Prepares and presents reports outlining the outcome of projects. Selects, develops, and evaluates project team to ensure efficient operations.ResponsibilitiesDevelops and implements roadmaps, resourcing, project scheduling and oversight, and process improvements for team and functionIdentifies gaps and sets technical strategy for the teamParticipates in cross-functional initiatives and leadership meetingsDrives the evolution of engineering standards and practices across the departmentProvides technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, identifying individual growth needs for engineersAccomplish results through professional employees by setting project timelines, priorities based on project objectives, and oversight of ongoing assignments.Attract, select, and retain high-level talent through active participation in performance management and professional development of team members.Leverage AI tools and techniques to enhance software development activities, including code generation, testing, debugging, and optimization.Apply AI insights to identify patterns, automate repetitive tasks, and improve overall development efficiency and product quality.Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities where appropriate to strengthen product functionality and user experience.Maintain awareness of emerging AI trends and best practices to inform continuous learning and innovation.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of management experience or combination of education and experience Experience with continuous production deployment of customer applications utilizing one of the following modern technology platforms: (1) AWS, (2) Azure or (3) Google Cloud Services.Experience with managing teams utilizing AI tools in software generation and in implementing AI solutions within enterprise-level software.Proficiency in more than one major programming languageDeep understanding of the foundation of software engineering principles, including system design, architecture, and development practicesProven success in a fast-paced development environment, with a focus on improving development practices and processes to enhance team efficiency, collaboration, and code quality in a large-scale organizationProven success as a coach and mentor of technical staffAbility to motivate yourself and others, prioritize your own work, and adapt and thrive in a dynamic team environmentExcellent problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiencesDesired:Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certificationExperience with teams utilizing React or RubyThe pay range for this role is based on relative market data and alignment with our compensation philosophy.
