Revenue Cycle Specialist

We're looking for an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to take ownership of the practice side of our revenue cycle — with a clear path to grow into a management role as North Texas Center for Rheumatology expands. We already partner with an external billing company for claims. What we need is the internal owner for collections at the front end, disciplined follow-up on patient balances, accurate reconciliation, and effective coordination with our billing partner. If you've done this work at a smaller scale and are ready to step up and own it, this role is built for you. This is a role with real room to grow. As we add providers and new lines of service, the revenue cycle function — and this position — will grow with the practice.

What You'll Do

• Review and improve our procedures. Evaluate our current front-office and revenue cycle procedures, identify gaps, and implement new or improved workflows where needed — including how patients are collected from at check-in and check-out, how balances are handled, and how accounts are documented.
• Own front-end collections. Build and enforce clear procedures for collecting copays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances at time of service, and train front desk staff to follow them consistently.
• Work down patient AR. Take ownership of outstanding patient balances — statements, payment plans, follow-up, and resolution — and reduce aged accounts receivable.
• Own insurance verification. Ensure eligibility and benefits are verified before visits so the correct patient responsibility is calculated and collected up front; design and oversee the verification workflow.
• Reconcile accurately. Oversee daily payment posting and deposit reconciliation so that collected funds tie out correctly, and support accurate month-end close.
• Coordinate with our billing company. Serve as the practice's point of contact with our external billing partner — provide clean information, monitor performance, follow up on unresolved accounts, and hold the partnership to clear expectations and metrics.
• Report on performance. Track and report key indicators, and flag trends and issues to practice leadership.

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years of medical revenue cycle experience, with hands-on work in patient collections and accounts receivable (not claims submission alone)
• Direct experience with insurance verification / eligibility and benefits and how it determines patient responsibility
• Experience with payment posting and reconciliation
• Proficiency with a practice management system / EHR
• Strong understanding of commercial, Medicare, and patient responsibility (copays, coinsurance, deductibles)
• Ability to evaluate a process, spot what's broken, and put a better one in place
• Excellent organization, follow-through, and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience working with or coordinating an outsourced/external billing company
• Specialty practice experience — rheumatology, infusion, or another high-dollar setting with biologics, prior authorizations, and specialty pharmacy coordination
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) — strongly preferred, as many of our patients are best served in Spanish
• Revenue cycle certification (e.g., CRCR, CRCP, CPB) is a plus, not required

Growth Path

This role is designed to grow with the practice. North Texas Center for Rheumatology is expanding — adding providers and new lines of service — and the revenue cycle function will grow right alongside it. The right person will start by owning the work hands-on and, as we grow, will have the opportunity to grow into a Revenue Cycle Manager role with expanded responsibility, new service lines to support, and a team to lead. We're looking for someone who wants to build something and grow with us, not just fill a seat.

Schedule & Location

Full-time, based primarily in our Euless office, with occasional travel to our Dallas office as needed.
