Payroll Specialist

Role Description The Payroll Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Wilmington, NC. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, including reviewing timekeeping data, calculating wages, and ensuring accurate and timely pay for team members across multiple locations. Daily tasks include managing payroll taxes, handling garnishments, coordinating with payroll service providers, maintaining payroll records, and responding to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with HR and finance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, support audits, and contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency. This position requires strong attention to detail, consistency in meeting deadlines, and a commitment to safeguarding confidential information. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Payroll Processing and Payroll Administration for multi-location or multi-state operations. Experience managing Payroll Taxes and working with external or internal Payroll Services. Knowledge of Garnishments, including proper calculation, documentation, and compliance with legal requirements. Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems; strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills. Solid understanding of wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and payroll compliance standards. Excellent numerical accuracy, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Ability to work on-site in Wilmington, NC, and collaborate effectively with HR, finance, and operations teams. Prior experience in hospitality, retail, or multi-unit environments is beneficial. Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
