Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of line cook experience in a high-volume kitchen, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates both skill and consistency on the sauté station. This position requires strong teamwork, clear communication, and a proven track record of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Execute dishes with precision and consistency on the sauté station.
• Follow recipes, plating standards, and kitchen procedures to uphold the Butcher and Barrel experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, chefs, and front-of-house staff.
• Assist with prep work, inventory, and daily station setup/breakdown.
• Uphold food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with local health regulations.
• Work collaboratively as part of a driven and supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of line cook experience in a professional kitchen (steakhouse or fine dining experience preferred).
• Strong knife skills and sauté technique.
• Ability to handle high-volume service with consistency and composure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Passion for food, hospitality, and continuous growth.

Butcher and Barrel is a farm-to-fork, USDA Prime steakhouse located at 723 K Street in the heart of downtown Sacramento, just a block from Golden 1 Center. Since opening our doors in October 2023, we have quickly become known for exceptional quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and a dining experience built around the craft of butchery, fire, and hospitality.
