Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, working three 12-hour shifts per week.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and undertaking patient transport as medically prescribed, while operating within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans.
• Explain the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, providing necessary education upon discharge.
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments including operation of various ventilatory equipment and nebulizer devices for medication administration.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy.
• Review patient's chest x-rays to determine need for further evaluation.
• Assist in procedures relating to respiratory care according to policy.
• Perform venipuncture and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and communicate effectively with attending physicians.

Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.

Certifications in BLS and ACLS required.

Experience operating various types of ventilatory and respiratory equipment.
