Packing Supply Manager

\n

\n

\n
• Oversee designated business processes. Have (or develop) detailed knowledge of each business process and be able to perform most jobs in packing supply function.
\n
• Be an excellent communicator (speaking and listening); proactive in discussing successes, failures, concerns and ideas with all others regardless of title.Discussing ideas and integrating different points of view in problem solving is an important part of this position.
\n
• Make decisions and solve problems daily according to the needs of the business.
\n
• Drive EBITDA growth in the Packaging Supply Business at Champion.
\n
• Responsible for improving processes in area of responsibility. Any process changes that involve significant time, effort, investment or impact on other processes should be discussed and approved by management and others impacted by the process.
\n
• Fostering excellent vendor relationships, improving product acquisition costs, inventory turns, and fill rate are among the most important issues in this area.
\n
• Determining pricing and supporting the needs and demands of the sales representatives is a critical component
\n
• Ensuring proper care, housekeeping and maintenance on equipment/facilities is the responsibility of all. The standards should be consistent with requirements identified by State or Federal guidelines such as OSHA.

Hiring Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year. A candidate’s experience and knowledge may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Process Responsibilities:

Buying Process

\n

\n
• Determine proper vendors that orders should be sourced to.
\n
• Manage Inventory Levels; Responsible for what is stocked, inventory turns and identifying creative substitutions when needed.
\n
• Guide the buyer/purchasing effort to buy optimally from vendors considering cost and inventory implications
\n

Pricing/Pricing Support

\n

\n
• Responsible for pricing all outbound packing supplies. Establish pricing for customer service reps
\n
• Learn/ Remain knowledgeable about the competitive landscape
\n
• Regularly apply high degree of judgement and subjectivity
\n
• Identity deviations and capture opportunities
\n

\n

\n

Vendor/Source Development Process

\n

\n
• Work in conjunction with sister company to establish preferred vendors to strengthen our buying power.
\n
• Develop relationship with manufacturers’ sales reps
\n
• Learn vendor preferences for buying strategies
\n
• Locate/secure new vendors based on customers’ needs
\n
• Understand how customers are evaluating our performance and the influence they have on year-end rebates
\n

\n

Technical Support Process

\n

\n
• Become a “go-to” resource for packing/supplies issues when they arise
\n
• Provide additional sales support for sales reps and additional technical support for customer service reps.Arrange for appropriate training needed for relevant staff.
\n
• Determine scope and respond to urgent shipment needs responsibly
\n
• Make sound recommendations for substitutions if out-of-stock items are needed
\n

Product Line Management Process

\n

\n
• Work collaboratively with VP on decisions to do/ not do new business
\n
• Routinely evaluate activity, sales, and profitability of existing product offerings
\n
• Maintain awareness of customer needs and interests
\n

\n

\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent job experience

\n

3+ years’ experience in similar role

\n

Excellent skills with Office Programs

\n

Ability and willingness to travel occasionally in the US and Canada
