Senior Advisor

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, Trade and Cargo Academy, located in Charleston, South Carolina. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Applying advanced qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve management processes, systems, and mission support programs, including areas such as budget, performance measurement, organizational structure, and policy. Developing and implementing training programs, including curriculum design, instructor development, and delivery methods, to address workforce development needs and operational demands. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior officials, interagency partners, and law enforcement agencies, to align programs with strategic priorities and operational goals. Preparing comprehensive reports, policy documents, and executive-level briefings to inform leadership decisions and support organizational objectives. Resolving complex programmatic issues, developing long-range plans, and recommending strategies to enhance training capacity, reduce attrition rates, and improve workforce retention.
