About this Role Homium is seeking a Business Operations Manager to bring the company’s finance and administrative operations in-house. Currently, much of this work is performed by an outside management firm. As that engagement steps down, this role will take over complete ownership of these operations. The Business Operations Manager will work directly with the CFO and CEO, touching every part of the back-of-house operations, including finance, operations, human resources, compliance, and administration. This position offers the opportunity to build the operational backbone of a growing company from the ground up. The role is structured around four primary functional areas, each representing approximately 25% of the position’s responsibilities. The successful candidate will be hands-on and self-directed, serving as a critical bridge between senior leadership and operational execution. Based in the Salt Lake City office, the role requires in-office presence two to three days per week with hybrid flexibility for the remaining time. Responsibilities Process accounts payable, expense reports, and vendor payments Run payroll and maintain accurate employee and contractor records Work with the outside controller to close the books each month Build the accounts payable approval controls requested by auditors and maintain audit documentation Own onboarding and offboarding processes, from offer letter through final week of employment Administer health, dental, and 401(k) benefits and manage annual renewals Keep multi-state employment registrations and tax filings current Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits and HR matters Prepare meeting materials, executive dashboards, and reports Manage scheduling and meeting preparation for senior leadership Draft and edit correspondence, memos, and internal announcements Track action items across teams to ensure commitments are met Anchor the Salt Lake City office and triage incoming mail for the company Manage insurance renewals and certificates of insurance Keep state filings, licenses, and registered agent records current and organized Own vendor relationships, subscriptions, and internal operations and bookkeeping systems Requirements 4+ years of experience in operations, finance, or administration, ideally at a company under 50 people Hands-on experience with accounts payable and payroll operations, having personally run these processes rather than only overseeing them Familiarity with multi-state employment and tax compliance, or demonstrated ability to learn it quickly Proficiency with QuickBooks, Teams/Office, and Excel Experience with Asana, HubSpot, or Claude Code/Cowork is a bonus Discretion and ability to handle compensation and personnel information with confidentiality Organized and self-directed work style Genuine motivation by mission-driven work, with demonstrated care for housing access and financial inclusion Based in Salt Lake City and able to be in the office two to three days per week Benefits Competitive salary between $60,000 and $90,000 depending on experience Discretionary company performance-based bonus Full Health and Dental Plan coverage 401(k) match Access to a Salt Lake City office with hybrid flexibility Direct exposure to senior leadership, the board, and company strategy Paid maternity leave Paid paternity leave Opportunity to build the operational backbone of a growing company from the ground up Meaningful work at a company where contributions directly expand homeownership access #J-18808-Ljbffr ImpactAlpha Inc.
