Work is completed in a collaborative, team based environment. Performs biological and chemical testing on HLD and sterilization equipment. Monitors instrument and supply inventory. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations. If you have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.ResponsibilitiesReprocesses instruments using high level disinfection or sterilization techniques.Maintains an adequate supply of sterile and non-sterile supplies for the department.Maintains an adequate inventory of surgical instruments.Performs daily biological and chemical testing, changes graphs and tapes and maintains records on all sterilizers.Performs secretary/clerical functions.Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.QualificationsHS diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years experience1 year experience required and 2 years preferred.Previous experience as a sterile technician in another area of a hospital such as materials management or GI lab.Benefits at Children's MercyThe benefits plans at Children's Mercy are one of many reasons we are recognized as one of the best places to work in Kansas City.
